Jinchūriki

The nine jinchūriki from left to right: Rōshi, Yagura, Yugito Nii, Gaara, Naruto Uzumaki, Killer Bee, , Utakata, and Han.

The jinchūriki (人柱力; English TV "Demon Hosts"; Literally meaning "Power of Human Sacrifice") are humans that have a tailed beast sealed within them. They exhibit extraordinary powers, and in some cases are more powerful than their tailed beasts, because they have the intelligence to use the beast's powers effectively.

The first jinchūriki was the Sage of Six Paths, who sealed the Ten-Tailed Beast within himself to save the world, but before his death, the Sage divided the Ten-Tails' chakra into nine separate tailed beasts and sealed the Ten-Tails' body into the moon. The Second Kazekage of Sunagakure was the first to research the jinchūriki, with the other villages following soon after. Each village has used a different seal when creating their jinchūriki, resulting in different levels of access to the beast's chakra. For example, Konohagakure used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, while Akatsuki, an organization whose role in the series is to capture the jinchūriki, uses the Illusionary Dragon Nine Consuming Seals to extract the tailed beasts, and seal it away for future use. They have, as of the Fourth Great Shinobi World War, captured seven of the nine beasts.

In the case of Sora, an anime-only character, he only had a tailed beast's chakra sealed within him, not an actual beast. This made him a "pseudo-jinchūriki". Even though he was granted similar advantages to a real jinchūriki, his were vastly inferior.

edit Personality

Jinchūriki are typically lonely people, viewed by those around them as the beast that has been sealed within them, leading to prejudice and being hated and feared. According to Akatsuki, the first two jinchūriki they captured loathed humanity, and their villages were in fact glad to be rid of them. However, certain villages treat their jinchūriki with respect, thus leading them to have different personalities than those who are shunned. Such examples are Yugito Nii and Killer Bee, both from Kumogakure.

As the jinchūriki draws on more of their beast's power, their personality tends to corrode into animalistic instincts. Because their survival depends on the safety of their hosts, the tailed beasts are very protective, and will act whenever their hosts' lives are in danger. Normally, these hosts have little control over themselves as they transform deeper into their tailed beast forms, and become more beastly in battle. However, Yagura and Killer Bee, the only two jinchūriki to have full control of their tailed beasts, can retain complete consciousness and control even after a full transformation.

edit Abilities

See also: Tailed Beast SkillJinchūriki have access to a unique fighting style, depending on their tailed beast: Gaara controls sand, Yugito controls fire, Rōshi controls lava, and Naruto has high stamina and rejuvenation. By training, they can gain additional access to their tailed beast and its chakra, such as Killer Bee being able to synchronize with his beast, and transform himself into it. Not all jinchūriki can retain control when transforming into their tailed beast; when Naruto taps into his four-tailed transformation, he loses the ability to discern between friend and foe, and attacks anything in sight. A tailed beast can also provide its host with constant advantages, such as Gaara's self-activating Shield of Sand which automatically protects him, even from self-injury and Naruto's healing factor that immediately activates as soon as he incurs wounds.

JIRAIYA of MOUNT MYOBOKU

Naruto-1

I really enjoyed watching these two episodes of Naruto Shippuuden! I think its mostly because Jiraiya is one of my favorite characters from this series, and we get a little inside to his background. An instant jump off to the past of Jiraiya where he and his former team mates are going through training taught by the former third Hokage. Jiraiya, who is very much like Naruto when he’s younger, tries to show his skills but unfortunately it backfires on him. His sensei says he lacks purpose, and decides to teach him something more his pace. He then displays a summoning jutsu. Jiraiya is amazed and wanting to learn the jutsu as well. He is told in order to do so, he must first mold his chakra, learn the seals, and then he will be able to make a contract with the animal he is destined with. So Jiraiya trains himself in order to do the jutsu, and once he thinks he is ready enough and attempts just that. Except instead of summoning, he is transported to Mount Myoboku, the home world of the toads. He first meets Bunta and then is introduced to Lord Fukasaku, and is told that his arrival was expected by The Great Lord Elder. The Lord Elder had a dream of his arrival and that it was a prophecy, and Jiraiya is told to train and wait for this prophecy to present itself to The Lord Elder. That he is the chosen one and it is part of Jiraiya’s destiny. So from that day forward, Jiraiya divided his time training in the village and also training in Mount Myoboku, for both becoming a ninja and a sage.

Naruto-2

As time passes, Jiraiya has grown up and become stronger and the day finally arrives when The Great Lord Elder summons him to reveal the prophecy. The Elder talks to him about having a disciple, one who will make a great change in the ninja world. He also reveals it will either be great stability or great destruction, that Jiraiya will be the guide to that revolutionary. Also, that Jiraiya will travel all over the world to write books about his journeys. After hear the prophecy, Jiraiya leaves Mount Myoboku to start his journey for his destiny. Along his journey, he encounters many ninja’s, each with different views and insight of war and peace hoping to find the revolutionary he was meant to train to be his disciple. However, wars were still being fought and Jiraiya was forced to break away from his journey and to come back to the village. Jiraiya reunited with his comrades as they prepare for war. This would be the Third Great Ninja War where they become known as the “Legendary Sannin”.

Naruto-3

After the battle, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru come across some kids. They are victims of the war who lost their parents and are now orphans. Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko are their names and they ask for food, and having felt sorry for them and gave them their rations. As they are leaving, the kids continue to follow them. They offer their thanks but also want to learn ninjutsu. Orochimaru suggest to kill them and put them out of their misery, but Jiraiya offers to stay behind and help the kids to take care of themselves. So Jiraiya takes them in his care and as they are eating, Nagato starts to cry. This upsets Yahiko saying that its cowardly and to be a man. Jiraiya tries to lighten the mood and talks of peace that will prevail after the war, but Yahiko debates that it’s not fair how they lost their families in the war and that wars will never end. Later on, Konan rushes to Jiraiya saying that Nagato and Yahiko are in trouble. Once he arrives he notices that the boys are all right, but the ninja that attacked them was dead. Yahiko told Jiraiya that Nagato stopped him, and Jiraiya looked at the ninja and knew he was a chunin. He then looks at Nagato, only to be stunned to see Nagato’s eyes. Nagato has the Rinnegan, capable of being a godlike force for creation or an instrument of destruction. Jiraiya then remembers what The Lord Elder told him before about his destiny, and thinking that Nagato might be the revolutionary. That’s when he decides to start their ninjustu training.

Naruto-4

Later that night, Jiraiya hears something and finds Nagato outside crying. Nagato is wondering if what he did was right when he killed the ninja. Jiraiya replies that he doesn’t know, but because of his actions Yahiko didn’t die so it must have been the right thing in order to protect his friend. Time passes again, and Jiraiya with his three students are training and once they finish, he decides to return back to his village believing they are capable of protecting themselves. Once again, Jiraiya rejoins his comrades in battle known as the Legenadry Sannin leaving legends in their wake. Soon afterwards, Jiraiya receives word that his former students have died. He feels he did all he could and what was best for them, and Tsunade comforts him saying that he must still believe in himself. As the Third Great Ninja War continued, another disciple of Jiraiya’s who guided the Hidden Leaf Village to victory was Minato Naimkaze. Jiraiya finds Minato reading his book saying the character sounds just like him in his travels. Minato then mentions about his unborn child, and hopes of one day becoming a ninja. That’s when Kushina enters with a smile for her child, Naruto. Jiraiya is delighted by the news, as he is Naruto’s godfather. Jiraiya still continues on his journey for his destiny, and it would be later before he would meet Naruto in the Hidden Leaf Village.

Orochimaru berjenis kelamin laki-laki, tetapi suaranya seperti perempuan.

Madara Uchiha (うちはマダラ, Uchiha Madara), who posed as Tobi[3] (トビ) when first introduced, is a founder of Konohagakure, Akatsuki and the Uchiha clan[4]. When he joined Akatsuki as Tobi, replacing Sasori, he was partnered with Deidara, revealing himself as Madara after Deidara's death. He has been recognized by Kisame Hoshigaki as once being the Mizukage of Kirigakure, although it is unknown when. He is a major antagonist of the series, being responsible for the Nine-Tails' Attack on Konoha, being involved in the Uchiha Clan Massacre, and creating Akatsuki.

Contents

[edit] Background

Madara Uchiha as a young man
Eighty years before the start of the series, Madara grew up in constant competition with his younger brother, Izuna Uchiha, who were both known as the most gifted members of their clan. Their competition led to both gaining the Mangekyō Sharingan, and, with it, they were able to take control of the Uchiha clan, Madara acting as its leader. Even by his clan's standards, Madara's chakra was unusually strong. Under his leadership, the clan conquered all they came across, but, over time, he began to lose his sight because of the Mangekyō Sharingan. To regain his vision, he took his brother's eyes (an act Madara said his brother had consented to), allowing him to continue to lead the Uchiha to prosperity.
In the years that followed, the Uchiha constantly clashed with the equally powerful Senju clan. To bring an end to the constant fighting, the leader of the Senju, Hashirama Senju, approached the Uchiha with an offering of peace. Although Madara never wanted peace with the Senju, the rest of the Uchiha wanted to end the fighting, and Madara had no choice but to go along with their decision. The Senju, the Uchiha, and all the clans they had conquered came together to form the village of Konohagakure. Against Madara's wishes, the villagers selected Hashirama as the village's First Hokage. Madara feared that Hashirama would oppress the Uchiha, and tried to rally support for challenging his leadership. Rather than help him, however, the Uchiha turned their backs on him, believing his only motives were due to pride and the desire for more power.
Abandoned by his clan, Madara left the village, later returning in order to challenge Hashirama in battle. They fought at the site that would someday be called the Valley of the End, where, although Madara called upon the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, he was defeated, and was believed to have died. Madara faded into memory, and, in time, would found Akatsuki and become Kirigakure's Mizukage. He also appears to have fought Ōnoki, the Third Tsuchikage at one point in his life as noted by Ē, the Fourth Raikage, although the results of that battle were left unclear.
Twelve years before the start of the series, the Nine-Tails attacked Konoha. Although Madara denied having had any involvement in the attack, Itachi Uchiha and Minato Namikaze said that the Nine-Tails was under Madara's control at the time. A few years later, he infiltrated Konoha to try and rekindle the flames of war. He was found by Itachi first, who convinced Madara to spare the village in exchange for helping to wipe out the Uchiha clan for deserting him decades earlier. Madara complied, training Itachi and providing assistance. Itachi never truly trusted Madara, however, and kept an eye on him for the rest of his life. Madara also met with Danzō around the time of the massacre, but did not see each other again until after Danzō fled the Kage Summit.

[edit] Tobi

Madara's mask at the time he met Itachi.
To keep in Akatsuki's shadow, Madara eventually took on the disguise of Tobi,[3] giving orders to Pain in secret. He wears an orange, swirl-patterned mask that reveals only his right eye. When he trained Itachi, he wore a slightly different mask with black stripe-like patterns on it, and he had a longer hair cut than he does now. His hair is cut down completely from the days of Konoha's founding, and he wears a uniform consisting of a number of bolts and pins, which is usually concealed by his Akatsuki cloak.[5]
While acting as Tobi, he is carefree and goofy, something that annoys most of the other members. Deidara, who believed all within Akatsuki should be serious and calm, was not pleased with Tobi's childish personality, and frequently attacked the latter in a comedic fashion when annoyed. Apparently, Madara is very committed to keeping his identity secret, as he has been seen keeping up his goofy appearance even when no-one was around (at least during the anime's filler arc). Kisame and Zetsu, on the other hand, somewhat appreciate Tobi's ability to brighten up a gloomy organization such as theirs.[6] However, once his identity is revealed to everyone in Akatsuki, "Tobi" has abandoned his goofy nature and adopted Madara's personality.

[edit] Personality

Madara as he appeared during Konoha's founding.
Compared to his Tobi personality, Madara's true personality is considerably calmer and much more serious, but he still has a habit of joking around and disrespecting everyone around him. Despite his current limitations in battle, he is extremely arrogant, insulting even the strongest ninja to their faces and treating Akatsuki members as mere tools. He even spoke derogatively to Pain, who was recognized as the strongest in the Akatsuki and possessed the Rinnegan. There are only a handful of exceptions that he admires, the most prominent being Hashirama Senju.
Madara has shown great ability in manipulating others to do his work for him. Minato believed that he was using Pain's ideology against him in order to control him. He similarly befriended Sasuke in order to get him to join Akatsuki by telling him about Itachi's past, even though he has an apparent interest in Sasuke and his abilities. He appears to have a somewhat twisted outlook with respect to this, often avoiding responsibility by claiming that people acted voluntarily when they were really coerced or manipulated by him.
Madara possesses an extreme hatred towards the Senju clan and Konohagakure, as he is a descendant of the elder brother who was passed over being the successor of the Sage of the Six Paths. This hatred was compounded when the village chose Hashirama Senju to be Hokage over him. Madara admired Hashirama the most for his power, but still hated him for being a member of the Senju Clan. This hatred led Madara to a life dedicated to revenge. Madara believes that all Uchiha are destined to walk the same path of revenge against the Senju and Konohagakure, and that Naruto, who has inherited the Senju's Will of Fire, is fated to battle Sasuke, who has inherited the Uchiha's hatred, even if Madara himself must force them to do so.
Perhaps as a consequence of his old age, Madara seems to enjoy sitting down and taking his time with things, especially when telling stories, just like he told Itachi's story to Sasuke and his Moon's Eye Plan to the Kage and the samurai.

The Six Paths of Pain was a jutsu used by Nagato, and served as his representation in Akatsuki. It allowed Nagato to control six separate bodies as though they were his own. Each of these bodies were reanimated corpses which were both kept mobile by, and made use of, Nagato's chakra. While controlling them, Nagato used the alias "Pain", yet still regarded them as separate from himself.[1] All the six paths were eventually destroyed by Naruto Uzumaki during the invasion of Pain.

edit Use

Nagato transmitting his chakra to the Six Paths of Pain.

In order to use the technique, Nagato remained in a large, chair-like machine that moved with six relatively short mechanical legs, and used several large chakra rods protruding from his back to transmit chakra. From there, his chakra was picked up by the numerous body piercings that each body possessed, which acted as chakra receivers. However, to control them, Nagato had to be ideally at the highest and closest point possible so that he could have the best range possible. Nagato's machine could also shoot chakra rods from a hole in front of it for controlling enemies.

edit Paths

The room where the bodies are kept.

As the name suggested, there were six bodies, or "paths", which comprised the jutsu. The only common feature shared by these bodies was their bright orange hair and Rinnegan. Each path had a number of body and facial piercings of various shapes, sizes, and patterns. Also, each body seemed to serve a specific purpose in battle, such as summoning, repair, and defense, rendering them open in other areas. This did not hold true for the Deva Path, however, which was imbued with several capabilities. Each path, with the possible exception of the second Animal Path, was in some way affiliated with Jiraiya when they were alive.

When the paths were active together in battle, Nagato was able to see through their eyes, thus registering six separate fields of vision at the same time. Essentially working as shared vision for the paths, this allowed Nagato to coordinate their attacks and to provide defense for them without a blind spot. All of the paths demonstrated incredible speed, strength and carried Chakra Disruption Blades concealed in their Akatsuki cloaks which were used to incapacitate opponents. The paths were strongest when together, using combinations and the element of surprise to defeat their enemies; both Jiraiya and Kakashi fell victim to this technique. However, his technique, although powerful, had a flaw: each of the paths had a primary function or ability. With prior knowledge about the technique and each paths' abilities, one stood a better chance of defeating them, as witnessed in Pain's battle against Naruto.

[edit] Deva Path

Pain's Deva Path

Main article: Deva Path The Deva Path (天道, Tendō), the first of the Six Paths of Pain to be shown, was the body of Yahiko. It was the most often seen and used of the six paths, and acted as Nagato's representative during Akatsuki meetings. Its main abilities revolved around manipulating gravity, allowing it to repel or attract objects. The Deva Path was permanently incapacitated after its chakra receivers were removed from its body following its defeat by Naruto Uzumaki. Konan took this body, along with Nagato's body, after he died, and returned them to Amegakure.

[edit] Animal Path

Pain's Animal Path

Main article: Animal Path The Animal Path (畜生道, Chikushōdō) was the second of Nagato's Six Paths of Pain to be shown. It is the only path shown to have existed as two different bodies. Minato Namikaze (波風ミナト, Namikaze Minato), also known as Konoha's Yellow Flash (木ノ葉の黄色い閃光, Konoha no Kiiroi Senkō; English "Yellow Flash of the Leaf"), was the Fourth Hokage (四代目火影, Yondaime Hokage; Literally meaning "Fourth Fire Shadow"), the student of Jiraiya and the teacher of Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin. He was the lover of Kushina Uzumaki and the father of Naruto Uzumaki.

Background

According to those who knew him, Minato was a very talented ninja, having been considered a genius that appeared once a generation. He graduated from the Ninja Academy at the age of ten, and was added to a Genin team under the tutelage of Jiraiya. Jiraiya took a special interest in Minato, and accepted him as an apprentice, amongst other things teaching him the Summoning Technique.

In later years, Minato was put in charge of a Genin team of his own, consisting of Kakashi Hatake, Rin and Obito Uchiha.

Konoha's Yellow Flash

Minato with his students: Rin, Obito Uchiha, and Kakashi Hatake.

During Kakashi Gaiden, set during the Third Great Shinobi World War, Minato led his team on a mission into Kusagakure. Due to Kakashi recently being promoted to Jōnin, Minato gave leadership of the mission to Kakashi while he went to help Konoha's forces on the front lines. Before leaving, he gave Kakashi a special kunai as a congratulatory present, outfitted with the seal used for his Flying Thunder God Technique.

While helping his fellow Konoha ninja, he used the Flying Thunder God Technique to destroy all the opposing Iwagakure ninja in an instant. He returned to Kakashi in time to save him and Rin from another group of the foes, but could not save Obito after giving Kakashi his Sharingan. When Kakashi and Rin recovered from the ordeal, Minato helped them to complete the task of destroying the Kannabi Bridge.

Fourth Hokage

Some time after the war ended, Hiruzen Sarutobi chose Minato, who was not even thirty years of age, to lead Konoha as the Fourth Hokage.[2] During Minato's reign, he had a relationship with Kushina Uzumaki, who would later become pregnant with his son.

Minato and Kushina.

After reading Jiraiya's book, where the main character was named Naruto, Minato said that the protagonist was just like Jiraiya. It was then that Minato revealed that he and Kushina wanted to raise their child to be a shinobi like the one in the book, and for that reason they decided to name him "Naruto" after the main character. Jiraiya pointed out that it would make him Naruto's godfather and asked if they were sure that they would want that. Minato stated Jiraiya was a good example for them all and that he could not think of a finer shinobi than him.[3]

Soon after Naruto was born, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked Konohagakure. Minato rushed to the village's help, where he and Gamabunta faced off against the Nine-Tails, but the beast's power could not be matched. Having recognized that the Nine-Tails was being controlled by Madara Uchiha, and seeing that he predicted his every move, Minato decided to defeat the demon and give Konoha the means to combat Madara if he should ever attack the village again.[4] He used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to seal the Nine-Tails into Naruto's body, hoping that his son would someday be able to use its power. When Minato sealed the Nine-Tails within Naruto, he split its chakra in two, the Yin and Yang. Minato sealed the Yang half within Naruto with the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style, and sealed the Yin half with the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, thus making it inaccessible to Naruto.[5] The act cost Minato his life, and he died as the village's greatest hero.
